How invoicing works on Ruul

The end-to-end flow: you invoice, your client pays, and Ruul pays you.

Updated July 8, 2026

Invoicing on Ruul is designed to be simple: you create an invoice, your client pays it, and the money reaches you - with Ruul handling the legal and compliance side in between. Here’s the full flow.

How invoicing works

  1. You create an invoice. After finishing a project or task, you create an invoice and send it to your client through Ruul. It includes the amount, currency, and a short description of the work - see how to create a one-time invoice for the steps.
  2. Your client gets a secure payment link. Ruul emails your client a secure link - issued by Ruul as the Agent of Record - which they can pay by card or bank transfer. They don’t need a Ruul account.
  3. A commercial invoice is issued. As soon as your client pays, Ruul automatically issues its own compliant commercial invoice to them, in its own name, and emails you a copy.
  4. Your payout reaches you. Once Ruul has received the payment and run standard compliance and security checks, your payout is released to your chosen payout account - usually within one business day.

Good to know

  • Ruul acts as the Agent of Record for every transaction, which is what keeps invoicing compliant even without a company of your own.
  • Your clients don’t need a Ruul account to pay you.
  • You can follow the status of each invoice from your dashboard - see tracking and managing your payments.
  • All payments are processed to international financial-compliance standards, keeping each transaction secure for you and your client.

Frequently asked questions

Do my clients need a Ruul account to pay?

No. Your client receives a secure payment link by email and can pay by card or bank transfer without signing up for anything.

How long does it take to get my money?

Once your client's payment reaches Ruul and clears standard checks, your payout is usually released within one business day. International (SWIFT) transfers can then take a few more business days to land in your account.

Who issues the invoice to my client?

Ruul does, as your Agent of Record. Ruul is the legal seller and issues its own compliant commercial invoice to your client; a copy is emailed to you.

Can I invoice clients without a registered company?

Yes. Because Ruul is the legal seller for the transaction, you can invoice clients without setting up a company of your own.
